Things To Do In London After Lockdown

If you’re looking to get out and about for a family treat post-lockdown, why not head to London for a fun-filled adventure? Bustling, exciting and home to a wide array of attractions, there’s something for all ages. So grab your camera and make memories to last a lifetime.

Here are 5 things to add to your itinerary this summer:

1.       A TRIP TO THE THEATRE

Experience the razzle dazzle of London’s West End with a trip to the theatre! Discover some of the most beautiful architecture in the world and enjoy first-class entertainment that’s specifically designed to put a smile on your face. The 2021 West End Summer Season at Theatre Royal Haymarket includes a spectacular run of the Olivier award nominated children’s musical Tiger Who Came to Tea. Based on the best-loved picture book by Judith Kerr and suitable for children aged 3+, things to do with the kids in London don’t get much better than this.

2.       PICNIC IN THE PARK

A trip to London doesn’t have to be expensive. There are many free attractions to enjoy across the city including London’s famous Royal Parks. Climb Primrose Hill in Regent’s Park for stunning views of popular landmarks such as the London Eye, or enjoy a spot of boating on the Serpentine in Hyde Park. Why not bring a picnic and make a day of it, surrounded by trees, rose gardens, water fountains, statues and all the joys of nature.

3.       HEAD TO THE MARKET

Whether you’re looking for antiques, clothes, jewellery, artwork or furniture, London markets are the place to be. Browse the wide range of goods on offer and get yourself a bargain. Foodies can also sample mouth-watering dishes from across the world with stall upon stall selling authentic food to tantalise any taste buds. Portobello Road Food Market, for instance, welcomes street vendors selling freshly-cooked food including churros, bratwurst, paella, crepes, carbonara and curry. Don’t forget to ask for samples!

4.       STROLL AROUND LITTLE VENICE

Home to delightful waterside cafes, cosy pubs and restaurants serving high-quality food, London’s Little Venice offers a haven of tranquillity in the heart of the city. Stroll along the pretty streets, admire the stunning canals and waterways lined with beautifully decorated boats and even enjoy an exciting canal trip by narrowboat with trips from Little Venice to Camden Lock Market taking around 45-minutes.

5.       POP INTO A MUSEUM

London is packed with museums. Many of these are free to visit including the British Museum, National Gallery, Museum of London, Imperial War Museum, Victoria and Albert Museum, Tate Modern, Tate Britain and more. The kids are sure to love the Natural History Museum which is home to dinosaur skeletons and a giant blue whale skeleton. The Science Museum is also home to a wealth of interactive displays perfect for hands-on entertainment. With over 15,000 objects on display, you can spend the whole day at this attraction.

The Tiger Who Came to Tea will be roaring its way back to London this summer! Playing at the Theatre Royal Haymarket in the West End from 11 July until 4 September 2022, this is one of the best London attractions for kids aged 3+ this summer, so why not book your tickets and enjoy a day out to remember? The show runs for 55-minutes long and is based on the popular children’s picture book by Judith Kerr.
