1. BUCKINGHAM PALACE

As the official London residence of the Queen of England, Buckingham Palace is one of London’s fanciest and most well-known landmarks. When heading into the city with kids, you can admire the beauty of this palace after a stroll around nearby St James’s before watching the Changing of the Guard ceremony which takes place outside Buckingham Palace at 10.45am every day. The ceremony is around 45 minutes long and the kids are sure to love seeing all of the guard wearing the iconic red uniform and bearskin hat.

Any of the Royal Parks are great to visit as a family. But with Hyde Park being close to Victoria Station and popular attractions such as Oxford Street, it’s a convenient place to relax away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Top attractions include the South Carriage Drive Playground, The Rose Garden which comes into bloom in early summer, the Boy and Dolphin Fountain and the Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fountain. You can also enjoy a spot of boating on the Serpentine.
